Competition times: Starts at 1am Friday 14th May and goes until weigh-in shut off 3pm Sunday 16th May.

W I L D G A M E H U N T & FISHING C O M P E T I T I O N RULES

1. Hunting starts at 1am on Friday 14th May and continues until weigh-in shut off at 4pm Sunday

16th May.

2. All competitors must be in line before 3pm Sunday 16th for their catch to be weighed in, prize

giving to follow.

3. Only present up to 3 animals per category for weigh in, but there is only one prize per person

per category. Numbers for Most Caught need to be sighted by an official weigh in member.

4. Only animals/birds/fish caught on the competition days will be accepted for weigh in.

5. All game animals must be gutted with their ears intact.

6. Boars and Stags Only

7. Fish and Game quotas for bird numbers are to be adhered to at all times.

8. Open Section entrants must be in possession of a current Firearms and Game Licence (or have

actively hunted with a licence holder) and must adhere to NZ code of safe hunting practice at all

times. These should be available for viewing if required.

9. The decision of the Weighmaster is final, including weights and cut off time. No negotiations.

10. Junior hunter category is for persons aged 15 years and younger at the start of the competition.

11. For competitors under 12 years in the Junior Hunter section includes entry to the Junior eeling.

12. Junior hunters are required to hunt ALL their game by themselves; however, they are to be

accompanied by an adult bearing a firearms license.

13. Open section is for persons 16 years of age or older at the start of the competition.

14. All eels must be caught on a hand line – NO NETS. We ask that you try to keep all eels

alive to weigh in so they can be released.

15. All fish are required to be gutted before weighed, and of legal size. We would appreciate any

surrendered fish to contribute towards the evening auctions.

16. It is your responsibility to remove all fish and game upon leaving the hall unless it is

donated to the school for the fish auction during the evening.

17. Prize-giving will commence as soon as possible after weigh-in.

18. Donated prizes cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.

19. All competitors must weigh in their own game/fish and be present at prize giving to receive their

prize.

20. The organisers accept no liability for any damage or loss of property or injury to any person.

21. No alcohol or illegal drugs are to be consumed whilst competing in the competition.

22. Drink responsibly – arrange safe transport home from the event, phones will be available to

ring for a ride.

23. NO Firearms to be brought into the hall building. Please store in your vehicle in the proper and

safe manner that the NZ Firearms code requires (bolts and ammunition locked away separate

and guns out of sight with locks on).

Current Firearm Licence is required, and please ensure you abide by the rules and

regulations of NZ Fish and Game and the Tauhei Combined School Wild Game

Hunt & Fishing Competition.
